ASSEMBLY OF GYRO DISPLAY UNIT
  1. Choose File, Open, GYRO DISPLAY, open.
  2. Click Isometric Tool.
  3. Select View, Autoscale.
  4. Select Assembly, Add Component, GYRO BALL ASSY, open.
  5. If not already highlighted select the ball and click it red.
  6. Click and hold the mouse button. Drag the ball near to the Gyro Display.
  7. Choose Select Faces Tool.
  8. Highlight the centre axes of the ball.
  9. Press the shift key, keep it held down.
  10. Highlight the axes on the side of the Gyro Display. It is only necessary to highlight one of the axes on the Gyro Display. (Fig.1)
  11. Select Assembly, Centre Axes.
  12. The Ball will now move onto the same axes as the Gyro Display.
  13. Choose Select Part.
  14. Click the Ball and hold the mouse button down. It is possible to slide the Ball along the axes. Do this to enable a good view of the end face of the axle that will fit into the hole.
  15. Choose Select Faces Tool.
  16. Highlight the end face of the Ball axle.
  17. Press the shift key, keep it held down.
  18. Highlight the side face of the Gyro Display. (Fig. 2)
  19. Select Assembly, Align Faces.
  20. The Ball now takes up a central position in the Gyro Display. (Fig. 3)
  21. Select File, Save Copy as, GYRO DISPLAY UNIT ASSY, save.

TIP: To add this assembled component to the flightdeck it will be necessary to make a hole of the same shape and depth. To do this select the face of the flightdeck console. Select Workplane, New Sketch, OK. View onto Workplane and sketch the shape of the Display Unit. If 2 units are being fitted use Mirror and the appropriate axes. Select Extrude Profile and subtract the material to the required depth. It is possible to go deeper than required so as to give some room for adjustments and also to set instruments below the surface of the console.
